THE village of Crapstone near Yelverton has finally received the fame it deserves as it features in a new RAC advertising campaign that launched on Sunday. In the TV advertisement, hard man Vinnie Jones? car breaks down just outside the quirkily named village while he is taking his nine-year-old niece to a fancy dress party. To spare his niece?s delicate ears, Vinnie calls the RAC and pretends to be lost rather than stating the name of the village. Thanks to the RAC?s mobile tracking technology, Vinnie and niece are swiftly rescued and his characteristically colourful language is avoided. A recent survey by the RAC showed that Vinnie is not alone in behaving strangely when lost. Men will drive for a staggering 20 minutes when they get lost before they are prepared to stop and ask for directions, often leaving them far off their planned route. Crapstone is among a celebrated list of amusing British place names, such as: Pratts Bottom, Balls Cross, and Titty Ho. So maybe these other towns deserve to be celebrated on the screen as well? The Times has two RAC sat nav sets to give away ? just answer this simple question: 1.Who appears in the TV advert? Answer a) His niece; b) His nephew; c) His cousin. Send your answer on a postcard to RAC Satnav, Tavistock Newspapers Ltd, Tindle House, 14 Brook Street, Tavistock PL19 0HD by Monday July 30, 2007.
