CHILDREN at Okehampton Primary School have donated their harvest bounty to the town foodbank.
New foodbank coordinator Malcolm Hamilton made a special trip to the school to collect all the food the children had donated, following an appeal to mark harvest festival.
Teacher Rachel Holland said: ’The children have recently learnt about harvest traditions in their class assembly time. We then held a collection of food items for Okehampton Foodbank and had a tremendous response.
’Malcolm, the foodbank coordinator, came to school to collect the donations which school council members had helped gather. They gave up some of their lunchtime to load the car to the rafters... it was a tight squeeze, but we just got it all into his car!’
