THE harvest auction at Lamerton Village Hall drew an audience of more than 100 villagers and friends, and raised over £2,400 towards hall funds.

David Kivell and Peter Palmer auctioned more than 200 lots in their usual amusing manner. The lots had been donated by local businesses, villagers and friends, and the products of Lamerton's community allotment continued to appear in many forms.

Alan Reid, village hall chairman, said he was impressed with the sum that had been raised — it was a record-breaking figure and £200 more than last year.

He was grateful for the generosity of those who donated prizes, especially those businesses who recognised the value of the hall to the local community.

The money will go towards further developments at the hall.
