THERE is the chance to have your car washed while you enjoy a cream tea ? and all in aid of charity.

Tavistock Muscular Dystrophy Branch is raising funds to take a group of 17 youngsters with MD away on holiday to Alton in Hampshire, providing carers and families with a valuable week?s rest.

With the help of local cubs, guides and brownies they will be serving cream teas from 2-4pm on Saturday at Tavistock Methodist Church in Chapel Street. There will be the choice of a traditional cream tea with jam and cream, or a savoury version.

Abbey Surgery has allowed the use of its car park opposite the church for the car washes, which will take place at the same time, and Tavistock Fire Brigade will provide the water.

There will also be various stalls, including bric-a-brac and plants, at the church.
