Highampton Primary School has been praised by education inspectors in a new report. The school was congratulated on its happy and harmonious atmosphere. ?Pupils? good spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is a real strength of the school,? according to the report by Ofsted inspector Julie Carr. Ms Carr spent a day at Highampton earlier this year and concluded that every aspect of school life is above the national average. And she observed that by the time children leave the school, most have made significant improvements. ?In both classes, the teaching is lively, creative and well planned to suit the needs of all pupils, and the curriculum is varied and vibrant,? she said. Ms Carr also praised the range of extra-curricular activities provided by the school. School teacher Mrs Bevis said the school was very pleased with the recognition it has received: ?We are delighted the inspection report recognised that the pupils? personal development is a real strength of the school,? she said.
