THE children in class two of Gulworthy Primary School learned about all things Hindu last week, with a Hindu workshop as part of their religious education classes this term.
The children were visited by someone from Avesha Productions and they learned about Hindu gods and goddesses, dressed up and took part in a mock Hindu wedding.
The day included dance, drama, stories, dressing up, role play and games.
Head teacher Melody Nicholls said: 'In our global society RE plays a vital role in giving the next generation the knowledge skills and understanding to appreciate our world community. It is important that young people today have a chance to learn and reflect upon their own religion and culture as well as those of other people, gaining a sound grasp of the similarities and differences between religions of the world.'
