CALLINGTON Honey Fair is buzzing to ‘bee’ back back after a two-year break due to covid.
The honey fair, one of the largest street fairs in Cornwall, is a traditional event put on by Callington Lions’ Club and takes place on October 5.
The fair is a popular event for locals to enjoy, all focused on the production of honey.
This year the fair will feature craft stalls, street entertainment, a children’s art competition, free Cornish pasty making, a town crier competition, plus much more.
On the day, in the town hall, beekeepers will provide a backdrop and be competing for the honey awards and there will be the opportunity to sit down and have ‘Teas with the Bees’.
The day will also feature the honey fair shop window displays trail, with a theme this year of ‘Dream Holidays.’
Lion’s president, Don Berrey says: ‘After two years of covid restrictions and virtual honey fairs, the Lions are back with the real honey fair and are buzzing with enthusiasm to bring some fun an dlots to see on the day.’
There will be a free park and ride at St Mellion Resort provided by St Mellion International.
If you are a charity or stallholder it is still not too late to book your place, telephone: 03449 632446 or see Callington Lions’ Facebook page.
Plus, there will be a honey fair bingo night on Friday September 30 in Callington Town Hall at 7pm.
