THE traditional sight of horses and riders gathered together in Chagford for the annual Boxing Day meet, providing a colourful sight for spectators and participants alike.
The Mid Devon Hunt in Chagford met in the Square, drawing the crowds and making for a wonderful sight despite the horrible weather.
Sadly the Eggesford Hunt had to cancel its traditional Boxing Day Meet in Okehampton due to the hounds displaying 'flu like' symptoms.
The master of fox hounds Michael van Houben said: 'We had considered parading a few hounds as we always receive good support in Okehampton but the hounds' welfare is paramount and we did not want to risk spreading this virus to pet dogs.
Eggesford will be back again next year, keeping our hunting heritage alive through exempt hunting.'
