HAVE you seen any missing notes? Not money notes — musical ones.
Former Tavistock composer Adrian Vernon Fish has lost 200 pages of his unfinished 13th Symphony in the area and is hoping someone may be able to help.
Adrian was a familiar figure in and around Tavistock until he moved to Powys, Wales last month. He lectured and performed at the Wharf where he was also press officer for a while. Adrian was also an expert on Greenland and its people having visited the country on a number of occasions and even given concerts there. It also inspired some of his compositions.
He had only worked sporadically on his 13th Symphony.
'I lost this important orchestral score somewhere between Grenofen and the Tavistock area because it never turned up in Wales,' he said.
'I began writing it in 1990. It is bvased on the Book of Revelations — it makes Mahler look like chamber music!'
Adrian said he had not touched the work for a couple of years which is why he had not originally been aware that it was missing.
'I had written 1hr 10mins of music and I had another half an hour to write,' he said.
The music sheets were kept in a special large cardboard box.
'There is just the off chance that someone might have seen it and know of its whereabouts,' said Adrian.
