Tavistock Jets U13s 1
Hooe Rovers U13s 5
PLAYING against a top team, Jets fielded a side with a rejigged central midfield and defence.
Each team won a corner soon after the start and following a lay off by Coulston, Taylor fired a long shot that hit the bar only to bounce away from the goal.
Hooe?s skill and determination saw them win the ball in midfield and an early cross enabled their dangerous striker to put his team into the lead.
Jets were having difficulty holding their shape, often resorting to kick and hope rather than accurate thoughtful passing. Hooe twice broke through the middle and led 3-0 at half-time.
Hammond came on as substitute with further changes being made but Jets struggled to find their rhythm and it was soon 4-0. Webber had to make two good saves to prevent further goals and Richards came on as substitute.
Hooe scored a fifth although Kelly, one of Jets? better players on the day, finally pulled one back with a left foot shot into the top corner.
