TWO Bere Alston clubs are looking for new members to swell their already well-attended ranks.

Kenpokai Academies Karate Club runs from Bere Alston School and has recently opened two new branches in Princetown and Millbrook.

The academy caters for everyone from beginners upwards and conducts official gradings and grading ceremonies presenting belts and certificates.

The club also holds its own yearly competition with prizes and trophies to be gained.

For a gentler workout, Bere Alston Keep Fitters have just started holding classes again after a welcome summer break.

The club welcomes ladies over the age of 40 and runs from Bere Alston United Church Hall on Mondays between 1.30 and 2.30pm.
