Carlsberg South Western League Tavistock 0 Millbrook 2 THE Lambs slipped off the top of the table with this first defeat of the season against fellow high flyers Millbrook when two late goals sealed victory. They were without Mark Conday (injured) and Sean Cann (illness) but welcomed back Lee Ireland with Nick Lewis making his full debut up front. The first half was a very even affair with chances few and far between. It was not until 15 minutes that the first chance on goal came when Chris Menhinick shot straight at the visitors keeper Mark Henwood. On the half hour Millbrook?s Brian Stacey twisted and turned in the area only to blast well over from close range. Tavistock?s Andy Meeds did well 5 minutes later to hold onto a deflected Steve Sims free kick and Menhinick saw a similar effort turned away by Henwood just prior to the interval. The second half was a much more lively. It was Millbrook who took the lead with 15 minutes remaining. A free kick for the visitors 10 metres inside the Tavistock half was quickly taken by Kevin Russell to roll it to Simms. He turned inside a defender to give himself the space to curl a right foot shot high into the top corner of Meeds goal for a well taken goal. Lee Fox came on for the out of sorts Glynn Hobbs immediately but it was Stacey who nearly added to Millbrook?s tally when he headed over from a Simms cross. Shane Krac saw Henwood save his free kick after John Hadjiyianni had been fouled just outside of the area before Fox?s appearance came to an abrupt end 10 minutes after coming on when he was sent from the field of play for remarks made to the referee. Any chance of the Lambs getting anything from the game came four minutes from the end when Millbrook attacked, the ball was not cleared and it fell to Stacey to slam home from close range to seal victory.
