STRAIGHT from the kick off Bere Alston's Will Westlake challenged the Biscovey keeper from Joe Knights pass and the loose ball fell to Zac Beesley on the edge of the box but he put his effort wide.

Bere continued in the ascendancy but against the run of play, Biscovey scored. There seemed to be no danger when Dave Kitson cut in from the Bere left and hit a speculative effort from 30 yards, but it took a wicked bounce off the surface and deceived a helpless Craig Howells in the Bere goal. Howells dislocated his finger in the process and required several minutes' treatment.

Bere were soon level however, when from a well constructed move Joe Knight's cross was flicked on by Darren Smalley to Dan Pethick who tapped in at the far post. Pethick's second ten minutes later was spectacular. Having received possession on the edge of the Biscovey penalty area, Pethick slipped inside his marker and unleashed a screamer into the top corner. Bere should then have made the game safe before half time but for good goalkeeping.

Dan Pethick, Mark Wheeler and Zac Beesley all had shots well saved and several other chances came and went as Bere were in total control.

Then in the first half injury time Biscovey equalised as Steve Mooney latched onto a poor clearance and skipped past Jason Clancy to score

In the second half, Bere were not as dominant but retook the lead when Will Westlake broke through on the left and crossed hard and low for Darren Smalley to sweep the ball home. As both teams tired, the game was becoming a little stretched although neither keeper was particularly busy, but Bere substitute Mike Curtis was unlucky to see his header go narrowly wide.

Just when it seemed as though Bere were going to hang on for victory, a mix up between Dan Follett and Ed Hillier saw Hillier lose possession on the edge of the box and from the resultant cross, Nick Isbell nipped in at the far post to head Biscovey level.
