TWO women from Lifton put on their running shoes and took to the streets of Manchester and London to raise funds for the village's community centre.
Vin Marshall and Kirsty Freeman together raised more than £1,200 for Lifton Community Centre.
Vin ran 26.2 miles in Manchester in a personal best time of 4.29.03, raising £300 to date.
She was delighted with her time and said: 'I can't believe I've done it.
'I now have a "good for age" place in the London marathon 2016. It is a dream come true.'
Kirsty ran her first London marathon in a personal best time of 4.02.00, reducing her previous marathon time by 15 minutes.
She was over the moon with her efforts and has raised £930 so far. She said: 'I can't wait to run another one.'
Both runners wish to thank all those who sponsored as it helped give them motivation to do well in both marathons.
A final total is not available as money is still being collected.
