A NEW neighbourhood team leader has been appointed to Callington Police Station but the job will now be shared with Torpoint.
Sergeant Angela Crow (pictured right) will be splitting her week between Callington and Torpoint where she was a previous neighbourhood team leader.
She joined the force in 1995, initially with the Lothian and Borders Police before transferring to Devon and Cornwall Police in 2002.
Since then she has worked as a custody sergeant and patrol sergeant in Plymouth before taking over as neighbourhood team leader at Torpoint in 2009.
'I have recently returned to Torpoint, following a 14-month secondment to the Force Change Programme supporting staff to manage change across Cornwall,' she said.
'I will now be spending time supporting staff in both the Callington and Torpoint areas and I look forward to meeting the people in and around Callington.'
Sgt Crow said she expected there to be 'minimal impact' on Callington from having a shared sergeant — previously Julian Collison was acting sergeant but he will now return to being neighbourhood beat manager for Callington and Stoke Climsland.
'The role of the sergeant is to support the work of the staff and there will still be the same number of officers here, two beat managers, one for Calstock and Gunnislake and one for Callington and Stoke Climsland, plus two PCSOs,' she said.
The post of neighbourhood beat manager for Calstock and Gunnislake is currently being advertised, following Joy Stoppard's move to Launceston.
'I will be getting out and about when I can but members of the public can always contact me by telephone on the 101 number or by email at: [email protected]">[email protected]'
