THE Lambs can count themselves very unlucky not to have gained their first points for the season in a stirring performance against the Tamarside club.

They had the better of the opening exchanges with Chris Tilbury shooting just over after two minutes but they found themselves a goal down after a quarter of an hour.

Lee Coxon got down the wing to send in a cross for Ryan Fice to get ahead of defenders to glance a header wide of Andy Meeds.

Ten minutes later the visitors got themselves a two goal cushion.

Again it came from the right as Fice got to the by-line to cut the ball back for his strike partner James Lynch to shoot home low from close range.

The Lambs came close to replying two minutes later as Millbrook failed to clear the ball, Tilbury collected it and squared to Kevin Parker but his shot went just wide.

It was a different second half as the Lambs got right back into the game with just two minutes on the clock. Ryan Daley?s ball up the wing saw Parker collect from a Mike Arscott mistake to cut in and set it up for Paul Adcock to pick his spot.

It was the start of an onslaught on the Millbrook goal.

Daley?s jinking run saw him shoot wide.

James Steer?s header from a Daley corner was glanced wide before the visitors responded with substitute Jimmy Kiely sending in a long range effort that had Meeds beaten but the ball flew over the bar and Fice shot wide when sent through.

The last five minutes saw the Lambs have at least three good chances to have drawn level or indeed go ahead but Jason Chapman finger tipped over a Matt Martin effort.

Parker?s shot was blocked on the line and Martin failed to connect with a low Adcock cross right at the end of play.

No doom and gloom around Langsford Park after this display. It was a battling performance from the Lambs and results will surely go their way if they continue in the same vein.
