HIGHAMPTON Primary School teacher Jeanette Neale has been shortlisted for a national teaching award.
Nominated by one of the school governors, Mrs Neale has worked hard promoting community links since she joined the school two years ago and has been shortlisted for the community involvement award.
South West winners will be announced at a presentation at Powderham Castle on June 24.
Headteacher of Highampton Primary Jill Bevis said when the foot and mouth crisis hit, Mrs Neale put in a lot of extra work to organise plays, performances and events in the church and village hall.
The school received a visit by two judges recently who talked with staff, parents and governors and watched Mrs Neale at work.
