Okehampton 5
ISCA C 2
OKEHAMPTON were looking to continue their winning start to the season with victory over last years fourth placed team.
It was the visitors who took the initiative as they controlled the entire first half with the hosts starting the game poorly. ISCA took the lead with a well worked move ending with an unstoppable strike into the roof of the net.
The home side offered little in response and failed to create any real chances.
A second followed for the away side half way through the half and Okehampton looked down and out at half time.
However Oke went onto the attack straight from the restart, and within minutes they had pulled a goal back when a good run down the left by Josh Speak found the unmarked Nick Luxton who duly converted.
ISCA tried to push the hosts back but were sprung on the counter, Speak was found in space and he via Mark Parsons found Brett Lawson who rounded the advancing keeper to score.
The visitors seemed to lose their shape and when Luke Miller skillfully beat two defenders and slid the ball across it was Chris Luxton who was unmarked to push the ball in.
Okehampton's fitness started to show in the latter stages of the match and Lawson found man of the match Andy Paterson who slotted home for four. Miller then capped off a superb display when he went clean through and calmly made it five.
n This week Okehampton travel to Yeovil A, push-off at 1pm.
