OKEHAMPTON Excelsior Silver Band visited Bugle in Cornwall recently to take part in the 92nd annual West of England Bandsmen’s Festival.

The band was delighted to have won the deportment prize for the fifth consecutive year, bringing home the Sir Charles Cottier Cup. This category was judged by Gareth Roberts OBE.

The band also came a well-deserved second in the fourth section, playing Mexican fiesta. The competition was followed by a band picnic.
