CHAGFORD Primary School is just one of 35 participants featured in a special sculpture trail opening on Dartmoor this weekend.
The Heathercombe EDGE Sculpture Trail is an annual arts event for Dartmoor, sited in the beautiful Heathercombe 'Fairy Wood' at Manaton.
The theme for this year's exhibition is 'Hope' and the event will be officially opened by Bill Hitchins, of Dartmoor National Park Authority, at 2pm this Saturday.
A spokesperson for the event said: 'The EDGE Sculpture Trail represents work from all parts of the community with professional artists showing alongside work made by a range of community-based groups.
'Building on our successes of the last two years, we are expanding the 2011 exhibition into the wider Heathercombe gardens and our new Wayside gallery space.'
New artists and makers to the EDGE this year include Peter Randall-Page, Henry Bruce, Ellie Davies, Karen Edwards, Jacky Duncan, Yvonne Coomber, Peet Leather, Naomi Singer and many more.
Alongside the Sculpture trail there is a weekend craft event over Saturday September 24/25, offering the opportunity to buy quality hand-made crafts directly from makers from Devon and Cornwall.
EDGE is part of the Devon Open Studios, and is run in partnership by the High Heathercombe Centre and the Claude and Margaret Pike Woodlands Trust.
EDGE Sculpture Trail and Heathercombe gardens and woodlands are open Tuesday to Sunday from
11am to 5.30pm. Refreshments and cream teas will be available at South Heathercombe tea rooms.
