Ordulph v Bude
HAVING won the toss and electing to bat first on an ideal batting track, Ordulph proceeded to go on a run spree.
Despite the early loss of Coad, in-form opener Statton (47) was soon scoring freely off indifferent Bude bowling. With the arrival of Westlake joining Statton at the crease the run rate picked up dramatically with the two of them putting on 127 runs in 17 overs before Statton holed out to point.
Westlake continued as he started with some sublime batting, dispatching boundary after boundary to all parts of the ground.
Supported by Folley (52 not out) the two put on 147 not out which included 20 fours and 3 sixes.
The young Bude bowlers stuck to their task admirably under difficult conditions.
Chasing an impossible cause the Bude innings started badly with wickets falling at regular intervals, mainly to the canny spin bowling of Watling, who turned in impressive figures of 3 for 16 off 10.
Other Ordulph bowlers getting among the wickets were Rayburn, Lethbridge and Wheeler.
A brief flurry of big hitting from A Hingston (54) was a welcome relief to Bude, but when he was bowled by Folley the Bude innings came to a close at 91 all out.
This week Ordulph are away to table toppers Gunnislake.
