SOME of Okehampton Otters had an eventful evening on January 29 when they travelled to Kingsbridge for a gala.
After spending half an hour looking for the pool, members discovered they had to swim extra races because many Otters' swimmers had not turned up.
However all credit to the swimmers that did attend, because between them they filled in all the gaps so that every race included a swimmer from Otters.
Some swam as many as ten events. However this tremendous effort was worth it, because after an exciting evening Otters ended up in second place with 194 points, just behind Plymouth RN/RM, 208 points.
Kingbridge were third with 183 points, Teignmouth fourth with 155 points, Kingsteignton fifth with 76 points.
