MORE than 500 people attended a service of thanksgiving for 11-year-old Kieran Horn from Lamerton in the parish church last Friday.
Kieran died on March 16 at his home at New Venn Farm in what was initially thought to be a quad bike accident, but no obvious cause of death has yet been found and medical causes are being investigated.
Kieran's grandfather, Stephen Horn, said this week that the family had been 'overwhelmed' by the support from the community and 'humbled' by the strength of the children who attended the service. Classmates of Kieran from Lamerton Primary School and member of the Spooners and West Dartmoor Pony Club were among those who attended on Friday.
A professional sound system supplied and operated by John Collacott from Tavistock meant that the service could be relayed to the many people outside the church.
Mr Horn expressed thanks to everyone who helped on the day including everyone who put on the refreshments afterwards.
