Carlsberg South Western
Tavistock 2
Millbrook 0
The Lambs fielded an unchanged line-up from the previous game against Newquay and continued their good form with this victory over lowly Millbrook.
They had more of the possession and territorial advantage in the first half but could not turn it into goals.
The Lambs kept plugging away and the breakthrough came just after the hour when the ball was played out to Steve Brownlow on the wing. He turned it inside for Thirlby to cross and there was Simon Parnell ghosting in at the far post to side-foot a volley past a helpless Richard Rowe.
Brownlow cut inside to see Rowe bring off a good save to deny him before the Lambs went two up with ten minutes remaining. Mark Wall sent Brownlow down the wing and the ball was cut back for Chris Gott to strike sweetly from the edge of the area.
The game had a full eight minutes of stoppage time and in it the Lambs could have had two more through their substitutes. Steve Daymond saw his cross-cum shot hit the far post only to drop to a defender, then James Cole sent Parnell away to supply Daymond who put new signing John Hajiyanni clear but again Rowe denied the Lambs a more emphatic victory.
