CHILDREN in Tavistock will be able to make clay tiles and have fun planting seeds during the Easter holidays. Three activity days are being run by local charity Westden to provide interesting and green-themed activities for children aged eight to eleven. During a two-day workshop on April 11 and 12, children will be able to make clay tiles with local artist Karen Hawkins. The session will be run in association with Exeter City Council and Exeter?s Royal Albert Memorial Museum, and the children will be invited back to see their tiles on display at an exhibition in Tavistock Library later in the year. On April 20, children will be decorating plant pots, potting up strawberry planters, sowing seeds for spring, and growing pumpkins from seed, which they can bring to an event during Hallowe?en week. The Easter holiday sessions take place at the Alexander Centre, Plymouth Road, Tavistock, from 9am to 4pm, and cost £25 for the two-day workshop and £17.50 for the planting and growing workshop. Booking is essential. For more information call 0845 345 5077 or email [email protected]">[email protected]
