A PONY rescue charity is appealing for lifetime loan homes for its rehabilitated ponies.

South West Equine Protection is currently finding its rehabilitation yard 'fit to burst' with ponies looking for lifetime loan homes, according to charity manager Adele Cassidy.

She said: 'We take in Dartmoor and Bodmin moor ponies in need of our help and veterinary treatment.

'At our rehabilitation yard we nurse the ponies back to good health, handle them and then re-home them on our loan scheme. We only re-home in the Devon, Cornwall and Somerset areas and we try to find our ponies lifetime homes.

'Our ponies do not make a great height so they are fantastic as a companion to another horse or pony and some even become great child riding ponies.'
