PUPILS from the Meavy and Walkhampton Schools Federation put themselves through their paces pedalling miles for a sponsored bike ride.

The bike ride was deemed a great success with some children managing to cycle from St Paul's Car park in Yelverton to Clearbrook up to 10 times. The children all enjoyed themselves despite the odd downpour of rain.

The bike ride was held to raise money for both schools, and between them the pupils raised more than £500. Meavy Primary School will use the money raised to buy books and to help fund school trips, and Lady Modiford's Primary School will use the money to help improve the school hall.
