A CLASS of pupils from Lifton Primary School visited the Ambrosia Creamery in the village recently, to find out how the factory produces Ambrosia rice, Devon Creamy Custard and other products.
The children were told how the factory started and how the products are made.
As it was the school's activities week, based on the theme of 'challenge', the pupils were asked to carry out a product sensory test on five varieties of custard and design their own which would be liked by a child consumer.
Year 6 pupil James White said: 'It was incredible to see a very expensive piece of machinery in the factory and how well it works.'
Other members of Ambrosia staff visited the school to deliver the same experience to the younger pupils.
Headteacher Kui Holmes expressed thanks to Janine Harrison, of Ambrosia, for organising the visits.
