Horrabridge Rangers U15s 5

Tavistock Town U15s 1

THE game started with both teams testing each other out. This lasted for about ten minutes when Aaron scored one of the goals of the season with a 30-yard volley which dipped in under the crossbar to beat Daymond, the Tavistock keeper.

Horrabridge increased their lead with a Matthew Gaden goal which was well deserved.

This did not downhearten Tavistock, who carried on playing a pacey game. But Horrabridge dominated and played telling balls that cut through the Tavistock defence.

The second half started well for Horrabridge as David Harris robbed the ball from Town straight from the kick-off. This spurred on the Bridgers, who stepped up the pace to attack the defence with renewed vigour.

Gaden scored his second goal as he headed a cross into the net from under the crossbar.

Town scored a consolation goal partway through the half as Horrabridge missed several chances to tackle Shutler, who dribbled from midfield and pushed the ball into the Bridgers? net.

The Horrabridge defensive unit was excellent. Matthew Allen was awarded man of the match as he stopped the Tavistock attacks in a second half which was played in worsening conditions.

The runs of David Harris and Matthew Gaden were excellent, they played out of their skins. Harris covered every blade of grass on the pitch and deserved his goal.

Another goal was scored by Craig Mulholland from a rebounded penalty which had been saved by Daymond in the Tavistock goal.

Tavistock Town U14s 4

Plympton U14s 0

TAVISTOCK were slow to get on top of this game, and looked a little complacent as Plympton mounted dangerous attacks, Webber was required to make a great save to keep the scores level.

With Derbyshire controlling the back line Tavistock settled and Johnson, who had a fine game at left back, put in an early cross which Bray hit first time into the net.

Within a few minutes a high curling corner was headed in by McCall.

Kelly came on after half-time. The goal of the game came when Lyle put in an early cross which Coulston laid back to Bray who fired in his second goal.

Doyle came on as substitute. Lyle scored after a McCall free kick and Plympton collapsed with the remainder of the game one-way traffic as Tavistock?s players all tried to get on the scoresheet. This fine win kept Tavistock in pole position.

Man of the match: Tom Hammond. Manager?s man of the match: Chris Bray.

Chaddlewood Miners 3

Tavistock Town 3

AFTER a three-week lay-off and on a sticky pitch, Tavistock were on the back foot for the first ten minutes.

They settled down and after 14 minutes play Rob Wearing scored the first goal.

This did not stop Chaddlewood who were always looking dangerous, but 17 minutes into the game Josh Robins scored the second for Tavistock.

In the second half Chaddlewood picked their game up and scored within the first few minutes, only to see Wearing slide his second goal into the net after 35 minutes.

This only increased Chaddlewood?s resolve to score another two in the second half.

At 3-3 the action switched from end to end with both keepers making saves to keep each team in the game.

Tavistock came back with a fourth goal, which was disallowed. Chaddlewood attacked again and with an open goal shot right over the bar.

The last ten minutes saw both teams attacking and defending well on what was a heavy pitch.

This Saturday Tavistock are home to Lipson United, 1pm kick-off.
