Tavistock Reserve 0
Elburton Villa 1
TAVISTOCK reserves suffered a rare home defeat against an energetic Villa side. The single goal came midway through the first half when following a corner kick, a powerful header from Jack Ball found the Lambs net.
The home team kept pressing forward but some resolute defending and good goal keeping protected the visitors goal lead at half time.
In the second period the visitors nearly increased their lead when Jacob Smale had a great shot well saved. The same player was red carded five minutes later for a really bad tackle.
The Lambs exerted more and more pressure on the Elburton defence, but they continued to defend well until in the last ten minutes, during which they completely lost their discipline.
The game turned very nasty with ugly tackles taking place. Two bad tackles out of many, gave the referee no alternative but to show further red cards to Elburton's Jack Ball and Ashley Ward.
The Lambs failed to take advantage and no matter how hard they tried they just could not get the breakthrough to force a draw.
