Carlsberg South Western League Millbrook 0 Tavistock 0 THE Lambs? 100% record went with this game, but they remain unbeaten and top of the table, despite having keeper Andy Meeds sent off in the 65th minute. They were missing the services of the suspended John Morris and Chris Menhinick plus Lee Ireland (injured) and Will Westlake (holidays). Into the starting line-up came John Hadjiyianni and James Cole with Paul Cowling and Steve Daymond on the subs bench. The Lambs started brightly with Hadjiyanni sending Cole clear down the left in the first minute but his shot lacked power to trouble Mark Henwood in the home goal. Brian Stacey and Lee Mattocks went close for the home side and Cole saw his corner kick flipped onto the crossbar and away just prior to half-time with Maddocks shooting wide after a through ball from Stacey. In the 65th minute a through ball saw Rob Eddie race clear of the defence, Meeds was off his line in a flash. Eddie got his header in to send the ball agonisingly towards goal but Sean Cann was able to collect and clear. But play had been halted with an assistant having observed an infringement. After consultation with the referee Meeds was shown the red card for what was deemed a professional foul. Cole replaced Meeds and Mark Conday was replaced up front for Daymond to come on and bolster the midfield. It was not until the final ten minutes that the game came alive. Substitute Cowling put Glynn Hobbs away on the edge of the area but Andy Frampton blocked his shot for a corner with Nigel Pugh heading just over from the cross. A minute later, Daymond saw Henwood palm his shot up and onto the top of the net. Cowling saw a shot blocked and Cole saved the day for the Lambs when Eddie raced clear ? the stand-in keeper did well to get down low at the upright to tip the ball around the post for a corner on the stroke of full time. l Fixtures: There is no game for the Lambs this Saturday but the Carlsberg South Western League feature in the National League System Cup when they play Jersey Combination at St Blazey.
