THE Okehampton branch of the British Legion is organising a coach to take members to the Festival of Remembrance in the Great Hall at the University of Exeter on November 7.
This ceremony is the eighth occasion that Devon has staged its own tribute to all those men and women who sacrificed their lives during the wars of the 20th Century.
The festival brings together members of the Royal British Legion, friends and family members from all over the county.
Representatives of the regular and reserve forces, the emergency services and the cadet forces will be on parade and there will be an assembly of the Royal British Legion standards of all the branches in Devon.
This year, once again, 16-year-old James Stacey, who is a corporal with the Okehampton Air Training Corp, will carry the standard of the Okehampton branch.
Anyone wishing to attend the event should notify the branch social club in Station Road by October 7.
