THE repair revolution, known as Repair It, is coming to Tavistock on November 12 and it needs your help.
Repair It involves local volunteers with technical repair skills helping others fix and maintain their small electrical appliances and gadgets, including computers — for free.
The event is looking for local menders so if you have mending skills that you think could contribute to the event, then get in touch. The event has been organised by Recycle Devon and Transition Tavistock and will take place at Local Matters, Elbow Lane, Tavistock, on Saturday, November 12 and will run from 10am to 12.30pm.
Kate Royston, from Transition Tavistock, said: ‘Repair events such as this are about reducing waste and consumption as well as promoting the repair knowledge and skills that exist within local businesses and amongst community members. We’re looking forward to providing that expertise to help Tavistock people get their electricals fixed for free.’
Emma Croft, Re-use project co-ordinator at Recycle Devon, said: ‘If you think you might have the right skills to offer this event then we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch on 07966 566435 or email [email protected] to find out more.’
