Silverton 1
Okehampton Reserves 2
THE first half saw Argyle dominate the proceedings but a goal midway through the first half saw Silverton take an undeserved lead.
Soon after Yip and Pengelly started to control the midfield, supplying plenty of chances for Callaghan, Arnot and Williams to try and get Okehampton level before the break. During this time Argyle missed a penalty.
On the stroke of half time a miskick from Silverton?s keeper gifted Callaghan an easy chance, which he converted to make the scoreline 1-1 at the interval.
The second half started with Silverton using their sloped pitch to its full advantage and only some great defending and some superb goalkeeping from Weyman kept Silverton at bay.
The winning goal came with ten minutes to go. A fine run and shot from Yip was only half saved by the keeper and Chappell, after his endless running all match, was rewarded with an easy tap in to give Okehampton a 2-1 lead.
With time running out Argyle still had to rely on some last ditch defending to hold on to all three points.
Vernon, Wooldridge, Hampson and Ditchburn were outstanding in defence all afternoon, and without their efforts Okehampton probably would not have been able to secure their victory.
This week Seaton Town, home, 3pm kick-off.
