PEOPLE in West Devon are being offered support to quit cigarettes this May.
NHS Devon's stop smoking service is running drop in sessions in some of West Devon's rural areas.
The sessions are being run as part of a month-long roadshow aimed at raising awareness of services in west Devon's smaller communities.
The stop smoking sessions will be held at seven villages: Hatherleigh, Exbourne, Bere Alston, Chagford, Lifton, Horrabridge and Broadwoodkelly.
Charlotte Rolls, NHS Devon's stop smoking advisor, will be at the roadshow to offer tips and support for people who wish to stop smoking.
'It is important that we get around to our smaller rural communities to ensure people are aware that they can get free help to stop smoking.
'Research shows that people are four times more likely to successfully quit smoking if they get help from the NHS.
'We already run stop smoking clinics across West Devon and we hope the roadshow will encourage more people to take the first step to leading a smoke-free life — by signing up to a clinic.'
