BickLeigh 5
South Zeal Utd 1
ZEAL had not played for several weeks and it showed against a very good Bickleigh side on Saturday.
The home side dominated the early play and went one up after ten minutes when one of their mid-fielders hit a great shot into the bottom right hand corner of the Zeal net, giving Oliver Holman in the Zeal goal no chance. Zeal equalised after 20 minutes when Redd Cann hit a great free kick into the right hand top corner from 20 yards out, however with Bickleigh having most of the possession, they restored their lead on the half hour when a shot from the edge of the six yard box found the right corner of the Zeal net.
For the first 25 minutes of the second half Zeal were the better side but could not get the equaliser they deserved as both Harley Cann and Darren Gilbert had good efforts saved by the Bickleigh keeper. With 20 minutes left and Zeal pushing more players forward Bickleigh broke and scored a simple third goal to secure all three points, Bickleigh's last two goals were inevitable as the visitors pushed on in an effort to get back into the game.
Next week home to Tedburn St Mary KO 2.15pm.
