ROAD safety awareness is on the up for toddlers in Dolton, thanks to a Torridge District Council grant.
Cllr Rose Lock, ward member for Three Moors, donated £250 from her annual grant fund to the Dolton and Dowland Pre-School for them to purchase road safety play equipment. Zebra crossings, traffic cones and 'Stop' signs were just a few of the items bought by the group.
Pre-school leader Sarah Ashman said: 'The children love playing with these new toys and we have taken them out around the village so they can see real road signs and traffic in action.
'It's great for their road safety awareness.'
The money comes from Torridge District Council's councillor community grants scheme. Voluntary or community groups serving residents in the Torridge District area are eligible and are encouraged to apply for this grant.
