HALF of the teaching staff at Delaware Primary School have gained Masters in Education degrees at the same time.
Headteacher Jo Grail, specialist teacher Anna Linsley, Year 1 teacher Becky Marshall, foundation teacher Avis Jones and assistant head Bridget Shillaber all studied on a masters degree course organised by University College Plymouth Marjon.
The five teachers account for half of the school's workforce. Delaware Primary School currently has 180 children.
Ms Grail said that five years ago the school launched an 'improvement project' which included the idea of teachers improving their own qualifications and abilities.
'It's an amazing achievement for a small school. We think it's pretty unique. Personally it's a great achievement and, professionally, it has made such a huge difference at the school.
'It has created really good role models for the children.'
