LYDFORD Primary School has been recognised for its outstanding contri-bution to arts and cultural education for the fourth time!

Artsmark Gold has been awarded to the school, which first achieved Artsmark ten years ago and since then has built on its successes and arts opportunities to achieve Artsmark Silver in 2006 and its first Artsmark Gold in 2009.

The staff, pupils and parents are delighted to be awarded Artsmark Gold again this term, after a rigorous application and assessment process.

The Artsmark Gold award is a validation of the wide variety of arts opportunities the children experience, from working with professional artists such as Tanya Morel and Tania Skeaping, trying different instruments with Didgeridooman and Denis Kingongo, as well as creating puppets with Don Newton, to creating performances with MED Theatre.

Artsmark is Arts Council England's flagship programme which enables schools and other organisations to evaluate, strengthen and celebrate their arts and cultural provision.
