Yesterday, the Tavistock team from Dartmoor Search and Rescue were called to assist police in the recovery of a male walker who had sadly been found dead at Hart Tor.

Ambulance personnel had been unable to evacuate over rough moorland and the search and rescue team deployed a stretcher party from Soldiers Pond car park and recovered him back to the road.

The team have said their thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.
