SHARON Daw has done the double ? after completing the London Marathon in April, undaunted, she completed the London Triathlon on Sunday in a time of two hours 43 minutes. Training for a triathlon in the recent heat has been tough, but Sharon enjoyed river swims in the Tamar which she felt benefited her performance in London, swimming 1,500m in the Docklands. This was followed by a 25-mile bike ride, taking in the famous sights which followed the marathon route and then the 6.2-mile run which was the hottest part of the course. Sharon was relieved that she started at 8am and missed the extreme heat later in the day. During July, racing has seen extreme temperatures that saw Sharon complete the Launceston half marathon coming third lady on one of the hottest days of the year. She also came third at the Sticker five which was run over an undulating course on a hot evening. Tavistock relays saw Sharon in the winning team from East Cornwall Harriers, despite suffering with tonsilitis. The same weekend saw the hilly and hot Magnificent Seven which she came fourth in 49 minutes and taking the first over 40, winning a basket of fruit.
