THE Devon and Exmoor Sheepdog Society held two trials at the weekend.

On Saturday in the Ashwater Trial, by permission of Ian Mackay, at Sanduck Cross Farm, Lustleigh. The judge was Walt Passmore of Okehampton.

RESULTS: Novice driving: 1, G Watson,  Jake  89; 2, J Harper,  Scruff 77; 3, J Nicholls,  Kim  76; 4, B Evans, Joe 73. Open driving: 1, G Watson,  Jake 89; 2, G Watson,  Craig 85; 3, M Derrick, Shep 82.

On Sunday at Brompton Regis Trial, by permission of Mr N Cowling at Ruglands Farm, Brompton Regis, Dulverton. The judge was Brian Duke. Results: Novice Maltese Cross: 1, G Watson, Jake 68; 2, M Capes, Mist  63; 3, B Evans, Mirk  62. Open Maltese Cross: 1, A R Griffiths, Kerry 80; 2, N Cowling, Dutch 79; 3, G Watson, Mirk 75. Open driving: 1, A Blackmore, Mist 95; 2, R Hayes, Ned 94; 3, T Griffiths, Sam 92.

A total of £714 has been raised at Ian Mackay's three trials held in the last couple of months.  Ian has kindly hosted these trials at his picturesque setting on his farm at Sanduck Cross Farm, at Lustleigh, Nr. Newton Abbot in Devon. The monies will be donated to the paediatric oncology department (child cancer) at the Exeter Hospital at Wonford.
