A YELVERTON man has successfully completed the initial phase of officer training in his bid to become a warfare officer in the Royal Navy.
Oli Hucker joined the Royal Navy in May last year and the course at Britannia Royal Naval College included two months at sea, when Oli was in the Type 22 Frigate HMS Chatham, operating in the Mediterranean.
Oli is still a member of Plymouth Albion Rugy Club and has represented the RN at the sport and captained the Combined Services Under-21 squad.
The salute at the passing out parade was taken by HRH The Princess Royal. Midshipman Hucker is now in the Frigate HMS Cumberland for further fleet training.
