ORGANISERS are gearing up for the 37th annual Latchley, Chilsworthy and Cox Park Show this month. Residents and visitors can catch up with old friends, share a drink or a cream tea and enjoy the atmosphere of the fun-packed afternoon on Saturday, July 26 at the show field in Latchley. Activities at this year's show include Westcountry Falconry, Emma's Donkeys, small animals and poultry, a bouncy castle, Punch and Judy and children's sports. A large contingent of vintage vehicles and stationary engines will be on display and a prize for the 'best turned-out driver and vehicle' will be awarded. Music will be courtesy of Callington Town Band and barbecue and bar facilities will be available. The show field opens from noon, which is an earlier start than in previous years. Entries for the dog show can be taken from this time but entries for the pony show must be made in advance. A large marquee will be the venue for the hundreds of entries expected in classes ranging from cookery, fruit and vegetables to photography, arts and crafts. This year David Bouch, the National Trust's head gardener for Cotehele House, will be at the show throughout the afternoon and will present winning awards. Trade stand enquiries are welcome and can be made to Jeff on 01822 832109. See http://www.lccpshow.org">www.lccpshow.org for details and entry forms.
