PUPILS at Lydford Primary School had their ropes at the ready recently, holding a sponsored skip in aid of the British Heart Foundation.

Despite the chilly weather, the whole school swung their skipping ropes with enthusiasm and skipped laps of the school field.

Miss Polhill, in year five, was the top skipper, with Oliver Braithwaite-Smith, in year one, coming a very close second.

Sponsorship money is due in after half-term and the school is hoping to be able to donate a substantial sum despite its small numbers.

Eighty per cent of the sponsorship money will go to the British Heart Foundation and 20% will go to the Friends of Lydford School.
