Neil Stout, 60 (pictured right) said: ‘I’m very proud to have been responsible for selling the special commemorative edition of the magazine. It’s nicely designed and a very respectful edition to mark the Queen’s death.’
The front page has a side picture of the Queen’s and King Charles’ faces on the front on a black background with a black title- piece and a royal purple frame.
Inside are stories on King Charles’ credentials as a ‘green king’ and profiles of Big Issue vendors countrywide.
Neil, who is a popular figure in Tavistock town centre, said: ‘I picked up my 70 copies last week and after less than five days I’d sold more than 50 copies which is really good going.
‘I publicised the special edition and got lots of people asking me to reserve them copies as well, so I expect to sell out.
‘I think the Queen did an amazing job during hr reign and deserves us to remember her. I know my customer have really appreciated the special edition and some plan to keep it as a souvenir.’
