THE churches of Okehampton celebrated a weekend of unity and togetherness last weekend, with a special service on Sunday, January 20.

Ministers from churches that are part of Christians Together in Okehampton swapped churches for the day to celebrate the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Traditionally celebrated between January 18 and January 25 in the northern hemisphere, the week aims to celebrate the unity of all denominations of Christianity.

Following the church swap, there was a joint evening service of all the churches involved within Christians Together in Okehampton at St Boniface Roman Catholic Church led by the Rev Mike Davies.

'It was a good day, and good to see so much unity among the churches,' said Rev Davies.
