TAVISTOCK Young Farmers have joined forces with Yelverton Children's Hospice Friends' Group to promote a speed shearing competition. Competitors from the local area will compete against shearers from the South West and Wales at Lake Farm, Dousland, on Sunday, August 24. Gates will open to the public at 5pm, where there will be a hog roast, a barbecue, bar, refreshments, live music and evening disco. All are invited to the lively competition of speed and technique by local young men and women. All proceeds will be shared between Tavistock Stroke Club and Children's Hospice South West.
