PUBLIC transport in rural areas was put under the spotlight at a meeting in Exeter last weekend.

West Devon councillor Robin Pike raised the issue at the South West Passenger Transport Users? Forum, held at the Phoenix Theatre on Saturday.

Cllr Pike told delegates that lack of public transport links from rural areas to urban centres caused problems for many residents in West Devon.

Cllr Pike said the meeting was very lively ? he hoped flagging up the issues faced by people living in rural areas would keep cross country transport services in the spotlight.
