Newton St Cyres 1
North Tawton 2
IT was a disappointing first half with few chances and some controversy at the end.
The best of the chances fell to Ashley Arscot and Keith Steward who saw their shots saved by the Newton keeper.
The main talking point of the first half was when Ian King had his penalty saved - just as he played the rebound into the net the ref whistled for half-time and disallowed the goal to the amazement of the Tawton players.
The second half improved and had to, with Tawton?s slick passing having Newton at sixes and sevens.
Keith Steward fired Tawton into the lead, only to see it cancelled out with a Newton goal two minutes later.
The winner came from Steward, who impressively drove the ball into the net from 20 yards out.
Man of the match: Steve Ward.
